Rogue Community College’s Medical Assisting Administrator Associate of Applied Science degree prepares you to build clinical and administrative skills for today’s health care workplaces. You begin by training to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, gaining hands-on experience that helps you enter the workforce quickly. As you continue into the second year, you expand your knowledge of health care operations, communication and business practices so you can take on leadership and supervisory roles in medical offices and clinics. At RCC, you learn how patient care, office operations and health care business practices connect in real-world settings.
Coursework and practicum experiences help you develop confidence in both front-office and back-office responsibilities while strengthening problem-solving and professional communication skills. You can also explore electives that support your interests in health care, business or office management, helping you shape a career path that fits your goals.
For a faster pathway to the workforce, RCC also offers the Medical Assistant Certificate and Medical Assistant Bridge Certificate. If you are interested in leadership opportunities in a medical office, you may also consider the Health Care Administration Transfer to SOU Associate of Science degree.

With a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) credential, you can work in primary care clinics, specialty practices, hospital-based clinics and government health agencies. Medical assisting can also be a starting point for advancement into roles such as clinic supervisor, radiology technician, surgical technician or nurse through additional education or workplace training.
