Rogue Community College’s Paramedicine Associate of Applied Science prepares you for the highest level of pre-hospital medical care and helps you enter the workforce quickly as a licensed paramedic. RCC offers several pathways to become a paramedic, including a new advanced certificate and two associate degree options. Speaking with an Emergency Medical Services advisor is strongly recommended to help you choose the pathway that best fits your goals, background and timeline. The Paramedicine Associate of Applied Science is the recommended path if you are considering additional health care careers in the near future and want paramedicine to be part of that journey.

This degree includes the anatomy and physiology series and biology, building a strong foundation for understanding disease processes, injuries, pharmacology and patient care. You gain advanced paramedic skills through hands-on labs, simulations and supervised practicum experiences while developing leadership, communication and decision-making skills. This pathway is ideal if you see yourself moving toward critical or flight care, nursing, physician assistant programs or medical school within the next five years.

Meets Oregon’s associate degree requirement for full paramedic licensure.
Prepares you to take the National Registry Paramedic cognitive exam and pursue Oregon Paramedic licensure upon completion.

Offers Credit for Prior Learning, which may reduce time and cost based on prior education or experience.
