Rogue Community College’s Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Career Pathway Certificate program prepares you for a fast-moving career where your skills can make a real difference. In this two-term program, you gain the hands-on training and confidence needed to provide emergency medical care in high-pressure situations. Courses are taught by experienced EMS faculty who stay current with industry best practices, so you learn skills that are relevant, reliable and in demand.
The EMT program is designed to help you enter the workforce quickly. Through partnerships with local hospitals and ambulance services, you build practical experience in real clinical settings while you learn. When you complete the program, you are eligible to sit for the Oregon state and National Registry EMT exams. Graduates earn an RCC Career Pathway Certificate and are prepared to apply for roles in hospital emergency departments, ambulance services and other emergency response settings. EMT training is also a minimum requirement for paramedic and firefighter positions.
