Take College Classes While You Complete Your GED® or Learn English
At Rogue Community College, the Concurrent Enrollment Program (CEP) lets you take college classes while you complete your GED® or build your English skills. You’ll get extra support and RCC will cover the cost of your classes.
Is CEP Right for You?
You may qualify if you:
- Are a current GED® or Pre-College Education student.
- Submit an interest form by the end of Week 6 of the term before starting college classes.
- Receive a recommendation from your instructor based on your classwork, attendance and participation.
Additional requirements:
- GED® students: Score “Likely to Pass” on the appropriate GED Ready Practice Test by Week 8 and pass at least two official GED® tests by the end of the term.
- ESL students: Score 236 on the ESL CASAS and complete one term of PCE classes with English-speaking students, or score 226 and complete two terms.
- Do not yet qualify for federal financial aid.
- Receive approval from the screening committee.
What You Get
Once accepted, you can:
- Take up to eight college credits total, with up to five credits per term.
- Pay only the $65 PCE term fee. RCC covers your tuition and fees, saving you about $1,000.
- Borrow required textbooks from the library at no cost.
- Enroll in a support class with tutoring and time to work on assignments.
You may also be able to skip some prerequisite classes and move more quickly toward your certificate or degree.
If you participate in STEP, you may also:
- Receive priority registration.
- Get up to $200 for textbooks or materials.
- Have up to 12 college credits covered by RCC.
