This program is a strong choice if you plan to transfer to a university and earn a bachelor’s degree. If you transfer before completing the Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT), the university will review your courses individually. Many social work careers require graduate-level education, such as a Bachelor of Social Work followed by a Master of Social Work.
Course requirements vary by university, so meeting early and regularly with an Academic Advisor is important.
Some universities require minimum grades higher than a C- in courses related to your major.
Graduation Requirements
The Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) — Sociology/Social Work Interest degree requires the completion of 90 program credits in addition to prerequisite credits, which may be waived based on placement. Students must complete all courses outlined in this program with a grade of “C” or better to earn a degree. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with an Academic & Career Coach or faculty advisor before beginning any coursework.
