Elementary education offers a meaningful pathway for students who want to shape young learners’ lives and contribute to their communities. After completing this transfer degree and earning a bachelor’s degree plus teacher licensure, you may pursue careers as an elementary school teacher, substitute teacher, educational assistant or roles in youth-serving organizations. Teachers are consistently needed across Oregon and the nation, particularly in rural communities and in high-demand subject areas.

Beyond the classroom, this degree can also support related careers in education, child development, social services and nonprofit work. Skills you build — including communication, cultural awareness, critical thinking and ethical practice — are valued in many people-focused professions. An Academic Advisor can help you explore career options, licensure requirements and transfer planning based on your goals.
