The LPN to RN Advanced Placement Bridge program at Rogue Community College is a special admission program — which means you must meet additional requirements and complete a separate admission process beyond general college admission.
Minimum Eligibility Criteria to Apply:
To be eligible to apply for the advanced placement program, LPNs must meet the following criteria by the application deadline in April, 2027:
- A current, unencumbered Oregon LPN license.
- Completion of a minimum of 28 prerequisite credits (including BI231/231L and MTH95 or higher).
- Anatomy and physiology (A&P) series completed within the last 7 years.
- A cumulative GPA of ≥3.0 (each course must be a C- or better).
- Submission of TEAS scores with a passing score of 58.7% or higher (within two years of the application deadline).
- Participation in one essay session.
Students who have failed any nursing course more than once (or any two nursing courses), regardless of the program, will not be considered for reentry or admission to the program. If failure of the nursing courses occurred before completion of a Practical Nursing Program, the student may make an appointment with the Nursing Program Director for eligibility consideration.
Clinical Requirements
The RCC Nursing program partners with a variety of clinical sites throughout Josephine and Jackson counties. These sites include hospitals, long-term care facilities and clinics. As a student, you will complete practicum experiences in many of these settings to gain broad, real-world experience in health care.
Students will be assigned to clinical experiences in most, if not all, the sites. You should expect to travel to communities outside of where you live for some practicum placements. Carpooling may not always be available, so reliable transportation is important.

Nursing Program(s) Info Sessions
The first step to getting started in the RCC Nursing program is to attend an information session to learn about admission requirements. You may attend before applying to RCC or after you are admitted as an RCC student.
Attending an info session is required before applying to the Nursing program, and it is recommended that you complete this step before scheduling an advising appointment.

All students with previous college outside of RCC must submit OFFICIAL Transcripts.
All transcripts from previously attended colleges must be received by Feb. 15 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time) Information for electronic transmittal of transcripts can be found at the RCC Transfer Transcripts page.

Courses taken at Rogue Community College do NOT need to be submitted for transfer evaluation.
General education courses must be completed at a regionally accredited college or university for transfer to RCC.
Applicants who have previously submitted official transcripts do NOT need to resubmit, unless the transcript contains NEW courses to be evaluated.
Before applying, all students must complete at least 28 credits (out of 45) of prerequisite course work to include:
- BI231 (and BI231L): Anatomy and Physiology I with Lab
- MTH95: Intermediate Algebra equivalent or higher-level math course.
ADN requirements: 28 credits of prerequisite coursework must be completed with a 3.0 GPA to qualify to apply. If accepted, all 45 required credits must be completed before matriculation with a maintained 3.0 GPA.

Notes about your academic history:
- Applicants must be in good academic standing at RCC (not on academic suspension the term before application).
- Applications will not be processed for students with financial holds at RCC. Applications will be held until the financial hold is cleared, and if not cleared by the February 15 deadline will result in a disqualification.
- Transfer applicants who have received a grade of "F" or "W" in any nursing clinical course, who were dismissed from another nursing program prior to receiving a grade or who were involved in any disciplinary or performance-related process related to patient safety will not be considered for admission to the program.
Students can earn application selection points based on Health Care Work Experience. During the application process, you will be asked to share supervisor contact information so that we can request a referral upon application submission.
While we understand that many applicants want to wait to submit their work experience until close to the deadline to ensure maximization of points earned, it is extremely important that you complete your application and work experience verification request in time for your supervisor to respond to the request prior to the February 15 deadline.
It is your responsibility to follow up with your supervisor to ensure the form is completed on time (you will be emailed a confirmation to your RCC student email once they have submitted the form to RCC). Lack of submission of work verification will result in 0 points being awarded.
The ATI TEAS exam is a widely used nursing admissions test that assesses applicants' readiness for nursing programs. Applicants must schedule and take the proctored online TEAS through ATI, achieving a composite score of 58.7% or higher to qualify.
It is recommended to complete the exam before applying and paying your application fee to ensure your score is 58.7%. Study materials are available for purchase through ATI.
Scheduling the ATI Exam should be done several weeks in advance of April 15 to ensure an appointment can be made before the deadline. We will not wait for late exam scores.
Retakes for score improvement require a two-week interval between attempts, and applicants should ensure testing is completed before the application deadline.
ATI Exam scores are valid for two years from the test date.

If requesting Military or Veteran application points, you will need to submit a copy of your certified DD214-Service 2 Form or NGB 22 Form.

Applicants currently on active duty in one of the armed services must submit appropriate documents showing active military duty and good standing.

The Rogue Community College Nursing Program has the responsibility to society to educate competent health care providers to care for their patients/clients with clinical judgment, broadly based knowledge, and competent technical skills at the entry level.
Graduation Requirements
RCC’s Associate of Applied Science in Nursing requires completion of 100 total credits including prerequisite credits. Students must complete all courses on the Program Map with a grade of “C” or better to continue in and complete the program, receive their degree and meet the educational requirements to apply to take the national licensure exam (NCLEX-RN). Admission and completion of the Nursing degree at RCC does not guarantee an OSBN licensure.
