Board of Education Members

A native of New Orleans, Louisiana, Indra grew up in a small town near Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology. Indra then moved to Sacramento, California, where she attended National University, and received a K-12 teaching credential and a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She also became certified to teach English as a Second Language (ESL).

After moving to Grants Pass in 1996, Indra was a substitute teacher for Grants Pass School District 7. In 2005, she opened an in-home care agency that provided caregiving services throughout Southern Oregon. Indra now owns and operates Udders, an ice cream and gelato shop in Grants Pass.

Indra has been involved with numerous clubs and organizations within the Rogue Valley, including the Grants Pass Chamber of Commerce, Rogue Gateway Rotary, Women Entrepreneurs of Southern Oregon, and the Josephine County Republican Women. She is an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoys spending time with her 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Her passions include watching sports, reading, games, and travel.

Pat Fahey is a Grants Pass native and graduate of Grants Pass High School. Although he earned an accounting degree from Southern Oregon University, Pat refers to himself as a “garbage man by birth and by choice.” He’s the second generation in his family business, Southern Oregon Sanitation, a garbage company founded in 1948 and now serving more than 25,000 customers in Josephine, Jackson, and Douglas counties. Starting in 1981, Pat worked his way from container washer and route driver to operations manager until he became general manager in 2001, a position he held for the next 15 years. He retired in 2016, but retirement didn’t “take” for him, so later that year he purchased Sutherlin Sanitary Service where he now works as general manager.

Pat has worked on behalf of his community for decades. He’s been a member of Grants Pass Rotary since 1987. He was Troop Scout Master from 1993-2002. He has served on the Rogue Community College advisory board, Grants Pass School Board finance committee, Three Rivers Community Hospital Foundation board, Josephine Community Libraries board, and Josephine County budget committee. In nearly all of these, he has served in leadership positions.

He currently sits on the boards of Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc. and the Josephine County Library Foundation.

Pat and his wife Sue Mason Fahey have been married since 1979 and they are proud of their three grown children, all of who make up the third generation in the family business. While Pat loves to travel, read, and hike in his spare time, he says he’s having the time of his life at work and in his service to community.

Vanessa Jones is a Klamath Basin native and graduate of Lost River Jr/Sr High School. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Elementary Education from Western Oregon State College and Master of Arts in Education Administration from the University of Phoenix. Vanessa moved to the Rogue Valley in 2017.

This is her 28th year in education and 18th as a school administrator. She was an elementary principal in northern California for 11 years and a superintendent/principal for the last 4 of those years. Her family relocated to the Rogue Valley in 2017 where she worked for Eagle Point School District 9 for 4 years as the Director of Elementary Education and Special Services. In 2021 she made the move to Grants Pass School District 7 where she currently serves as the Director of Special Services. In her time in education, Vanessa served on executive boards for the Association of California School Administrators, Northern California Personnel Law Consortium and the Adult Pathways Board at Siskiyou Community College. She currently serves as the President Elect for the Oregon Association of Central Office Administrators.

Vanessa has been active in Rotary since 2007 and enjoys serving her community through her time in the Tulelake Rotary Club and now as a member of the Upper Rogue Rotary Club. She looks forward to serving her community as an RCC board member.

Vanessa and her husband, Derin have been married since 1994 and they are the proud parents of two adult children. Vanessa and Derin are avid board and card game players who also love to attend theater events throughout the Rogue Valley and enjoy spending time with family and friends.

Jonathan Bilden has been serving the communities of northern Jackson County for the past two decades. His service includes election to the Eagle Point School Board in 2005 and later being elected and reelected to the Eagle Point City Council in 2010 and 2014. Most recently, Jonathan was elected to represent the Upper Rogue communities on the Rogue Community College Board in 2023.

During his years of service, Jonathan has also been involved in numerous regional and statewide organizations, including serving on the Boards for Southern Oregon Regional Economic Development, Inc. (SOREDI), Jackson County Economic Development Advisory Committee, Southern Oregon Head Start, ACCESS, the Governor’s Regional Solutions Advisory Council and the Oregon Association of School Business Officials. In the local Upper Rogue community, Jonathan has served on the Board of the Eagle Point Chamber of Commerce, the Upper Rogue (Eagle Point) Rotary Club, the Butte Creek Mill Foundation, and the School District 9 Foundation.

In 2014, Jonathan co-founded a public charter school in Eagle Point with a team of educators and community members. Crater Lake Academy is now a regional network of education programs, including a K-8 School, a High School, and a Career Pathways Center. Jonathan leads the school’s operational functions, serving as the Chief Business Officer.

Jonathan is married to his best friend, Elizabeth, who is a school administrator, and together they are raising three beautiful daughters.

Maria Ramos Underwood is Chief Development Officer for LaClinica where she has worked for 20 years, where she has developed extensive experience in leadership, program development, marketing, human resources, and fundraising. She also leads LaClinica's Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion program.

Ramos has deep understanding of community college as an RCC healthcare partner, alumnus of Mesa Community College, an RCC student parent, and as a faculty spouse.
