David West Seventh Generation Award
Each year, Rogue Community College recognizes an employee with the David West Seventh Generation Award. This award honors individuals who demonstrate a strong commitment to diversity, inclusion and principled leadership, and who positively impact the lives of students and colleagues by celebrating the richness of the college community.
The award was established in 2001 in honor of David West, an RCC alumnus, enrolled member and elder of the Citizen Potawatomi Nation, and Director Emeritus of Native American Studies at Southern Oregon University. David West also founded the Konaway Nika Tillicum Summer Native Youth Academy, the longest‑running program of its kind.
