Diversity Programming Board events offer free programs, conversations and activities that invite students, employees and community members to learn, reflect and engage around topics such as equity, identity, culture, social justice and belonging.
Events include Courageous Conversations, special campus programs, common reads and cultural celebrations designed to deepen understanding and encourage meaningful dialogue across the RCC community.

DPB Common Read 2025-26RCC’s Diversity Programming Board is sponsoring a common read of "The Undocumented Americans" by Karla Cornejo Villavicencio, a gritty and revealing perspective of immigrant life in the U.S., and what it means to be American. About the Author: Karla Cornejo Villavicencio is a journalist and the author of the National Book Award finalist "The Undocumented Americans." She is one of the first undocumented immigrants to graduate from Harvard University, and is pursuing a doctorate at Yale. Her work focuses on race, culture, immigration and mental health, and has appeared in The New York Times, The New Yorker, Vogue, Elle, Interview and on NPR. Courageous Conversations: From Education to Action is a free discussion series that invites students, employees and community members to explore topics related to equity, identity, culture and social justice through respectful dialogue and shared learning. These free events are open to all students, staff and the public. All are welcome and encouraged to join this conversation.
