Getting Started
Each step is designed to help you build a training plan that fits your goals and sets you up for success.
- Attend an Occupational Skills Training information session.
You will meet with program faculty to customize your program. Second Wednesday of the month (August, September, October, November, (No Info Session in December) throughout the year at 4:30 via Zoom. - Apply for admission to Rogue Community College.
- Complete the Occupational Skills Training application.
Link will be shared through your Infomration Session. - Attend the New Student Orientation (NSO).
- Receive input from training site supervisors on your academic plan.
- Enroll in courses that match your placement results and training goals.
- Complete any additional requirements, such as criminal background checks or professional liability insurance, if required for your chosen occupation.
After you submit a completed Occupational Skills Training application, program staff will review your materials. If you are accepted, you will work closely with RCC faculty to create a personalized program that includes training goals, selected coursework and an approved training site. This plan is developed with input from both faculty and training site supervisors to support your path to employment.
After you Apply
After you submit your application, you will meet with a program advisor to review your goals, placement results and interests. Together, you will develop a customized training plan that outlines your coursework, practicum experience and training site.
You will also complete any additional requirements needed for your chosen occupation, such as criminal background checks or professional liability insurance. Once these steps are complete, you will be ready to register for classes and begin building skills that prepare you for employment.
