SNAP Benefits
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) helps eligible students afford groceries and access nutritious food. Students receiving SNAP may qualify for additional benefits through STEP at RCC.
SNAP is a federal food assistance program administered in Oregon by the Oregon Department of Human Services (ODHS). Eligibility is based on income, enrollment status and additional criteria. Students do not need to navigate the process alone — support is available through RCC and community partners. Many college students may qualify for SNAP, even if they have not qualified in the past.

How to Apply for SNAP in Oregon
You can apply for SNAP on your own or get help from the RCC Advocacy & Resource Center.

Gather Your Documents:
Having documentation ready can help speed up the SNAP application process.
- Identification, such as a driver’s license.
- Social Security numbers for all applicants (original cards not required).
- Proof of income from the past 30 days, such as pay stubs.
- Proof of lawful immigration status for non‑citizens applying for benefits.
- Proof of dependent care expenses, if applicable.
