Membership in Alpha Zeta Pi offers the following benefits:

A formal certificate of recognition.

Membership Requirements

To qualify for Alpha Zeta Pi, students must:

Have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
Complete 24 transferable credits (may include professional or technical courses numbered 100 or above).
Be enrolled in eight (8) or more credits.
Have no more than one “W” on the transcript within a two‑term period.

How to Join

Once each term, eligible students receive an invitation by email with instructions for joining.
Membership requires a one‑time fee of $40.
Payment is made through the Rogue Community College Marketplace.
(A passcode is required to complete payment and application.
To request a passcode, email [email protected], then complete the AZP Application.)

How to Get Involved in Alpha Zeta Pi

You can engage with AZP in several ways:

Attend meetings in person or on Zoom. Times and locations will be available on the Events Calendar.
Participate in AZP activities. Times and locations will be available on the Events Calendar.
Apply for open leadership positions.

Officer eligibility requirements include:

Official membership in RCC’s Alpha Zeta Pi.
Enrollment in at least eight (8) credits at RCC.
Maintenance of a 3.50 cumulative GPA or higher.

Officers serve during the fall, winter and spring terms and receive a tuition voucher equal to up to four (4) credits (tuition only, excluding fees) at the end of each term of service.

Guy Hughes, President

Guy Hughes, AZP President Howdy! My name is Guy. Yes, that is my real name! Originally born and raised in Austin, Texas. After high school I sought the healing arts and practiced massage therapy which I still practice. In 2014, being disenchanted with big city energy, I moved to Southern Oregon after falling in love with the area and the many wonderful things Oregon.

After being in Oregon for nearly a decade, I decided to reinvent myself by investigating Rogue Community College and higher education. After dipping my toe in the intellectual waters, I decided to pursue a degree in Computer Science with the intent of managing networks for a state institution or school. When I first started my educational reawakening, I was insecure about it because it had been so long since I had been a student, I was not a diligent proactive student in my younger years, and I am older. I am here to say that dreams are reachable. Put in the work. Aim for the best grades possible, study hard and do work you’re proud of. You can succeed and further your life in a positive direction.

Alpha Zeta Pi is an organization that recognizes your achievements and gives you opportunities to further your development. Participating in it is going to make you a better person and a better student. Part of college experience is not only learning in classes but networking with individuals in your community and learning skills to compete in job markets.

AZP has so much potential. My primary goal is contributing to the sustainability of AZP through awareness and student involvement and helping create a positive impact on student life and student success. I used to say, “Fake it till you make it,” now I say, “Practice it till you master it."
