Darren Van Lehn
I was Born in Santa Barbara, CA but became a member of the Rogue Valley Community at the young age of 4. I grew up in Ashland Oregon attending Ashland High School and Southern Oregon University. I received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Sociology and Human Communication in 2007 from SOU. After having spent 10 years as a chef, including through my undergraduate work, I found a position here at Rogue as an Academic Advisor. In my second year I became the Transfer Advisor and held that position for 6 years. Once Rogue began Athletics I saw the opportunity to combine my personal passions with my career. I attended graduate school at Southern New Hampshire University and received a master degree in Sports Management with a graduate certificate in Athletic Administration in April of 2017.
In my personal life I have been an athlete in many forms. From football, soccer, baseball, basketball, and track to my current passion of MMA and martial arts being an athlete and working with them is a process I fully enjoy and have already spent decades at. I base my leadership off of my 5 core principles, WORK, COMMUNICATION, RESPECT, COMMITMENT, & TRUST. These principles will help guide me and the Osprey program as we work to become the standard in NWAC athletics. I am excited to be a part of a growing program and to work with our student athletes to help them reach their full potential in all areas of life.
Go Ospreys!!!
